Conference Overview

The national conference on Enhancing Patient Safety and Reducing Errors in Health Care will be held on November 8-10, 1998 at the Annenberg Center for the Health Sciences in Rancho Mirage, California.

This is the second in a series of multidisciplinary conferences that began in October 1996 with the meeting on Examining Errors in Health Care: Developing a Prevention, Education, and Research Agenda. This year’s conference is being convened by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the National Patient Safety Foundation at the AMA, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Space is limited for this year’s conference, so register today! Information on the preliminary program, conference faculty, accommodations, and registration is available through links on this site.

The deadline for receipt of abstracts is July 1, 1998. For more information, go to the “Call for Abstracts” page on this site. Please watch this site for information about successful abstracts toward the end of August.
